Project description
CIDRE as a next generation eGovernment project
CIDRE aimed at integrating the existing and in several regions of Germany successfully tested and used technology “mobile citizen services” (German acronym: MoBüD) into the trans-European context. An international consortium, consisting of partners from Germany, Estonia, The Netherlands and Sweden, had been composed in order to reach this objective. Another objective was the development of a business plan for the trans-European roll-out of mobile citizen services.
The consortium has developed a business plan for the trans-European deployment of mobile citizen services. That plan comprises, among other things, guidelines on how to adapt system components to local boundary conditions, user education and training concepts, manuals for technical support etc.
Taking into consideration the local conditions and requirements, field trials were carried out in five target regions in Sweden, Estonia, and the Netherlands. The services' operation as well as its acceptance by the citizens and the civil servants was evaluated.
CIDRE has generated valuable knowledge and the initial deployment of the mobile citizen services technology has been prepared as a long-term objective.
